Updates

September 6, 2009

I’m just going to write whatever comes to my mind.

I finally got to weigh myself again after three months. 98 pounds. Good enough. Nakisingit ako kay daddy last Friday while he was weighing his balikbayan box.

I’ve just finished writing a crime story. It’s a homework in my major class. It’s not that timely anymore because I got the news last Monday and the story happened last Sunday. Not that it matters, since the prof’s concern is how the story is written. My prof wasn’t here last week so we didn’t have class and the assignment is due on our next meeting. Because of that, I was able to eat at Beachhouse again last Tuesday and Thursday because I didn’t have anything else to do. I bullied Kb into joining me for the late brunch (kasi di pa kami kumakain kahit na past 1pm na yun).

Last Tuesday, over brunch, we talked about my org… well, our org, actually. Overlapping na rin kasi. I was being so cynical, and she didn’t do anything to help me get out of the rut I was stuck in. Kasi siya rin cynical. Haha. Aren’t you, Kb? Cynical might not be the best word, but you know what I mean.

On Thursday, we talked about the house. C’s right, all we ever talk about is the apartment and what’s happening. But gahd! They’re making our lives a living hell bago pa sila tuluyang umalis. So tama na. Wag nang pag-usapan.

Last Monday I went to Muntinlupa to get a crime story. My dad asked why I have to go so far just to copy a police blotter. I said it’s because my classmates are all going to get theirs from police stations in and around QC. But the real reason is that I just wanted to be accompanied by my aunt. I didn’t say it explicitly, but I did text my Dad that I was coming home because I need to get a crime story from a police station. I was supposed to go Last Sunday, but when I was on the jeep en route to the MRT station, he called and told me to go the next day so that my aunt can accompany me. Excellent.

When I got there at the police station, my aunt, my dad and my cousin were all there waiting for me (I was late because Daddy said 10am, but they were there at around 9:30!). I had just left the house when my cousin asked me where I was. I was surprised, and asked why they were so early. He said that they had already called the investigator and it’s embarrassing if we’d make him wait. Uh-oh. What was the investigator for? I only have to get a blotter!

Dire-diretso lang ang Tita ko inside the police station and I was happy to follow her. She was even the one who asked the police officer if they have a new case. I was given a homicide case. Cool. They didn’t make me talk to the investigator, although they wanted to give me a copy of the interrogation between the investigator and the witness of the homicide case. We were about to go to photocopy it but another police officer stopped us, saying that the chief hadn’t even read it yet. Haha. Kami pa mauuna.

No unnecessary interrogations, no snappy comments, nothing. I love using connections. Not that I’m using it for anything illegal. I just didn’t want to be asked so many questions when all I need is to copy a police blotter. My aunt’s husband is a police officer so she knows the people there.

After getting the blotter, we went out to eat. Things I love about coming home: Free food and being driven around! My cousin’s only been driving for a few months but he’s already so good. He’s sixteen. Tinalo pa ako. Hahaha. Not I want a car or want to drive. I remember that when I was younger, I wished that when I get to the age when I’ll be legally allowed to drive, a car that can be put to autopilot has already been invented. That way, I won’t have to worry about driving! Stupid wish that I didn’t really think would come true.

Enough of that.

Last Tuesday night, we had a meeting. And the event that I was waiting for ever since R disclosed it at the start of last month is finally scheduled. Excuse moi while I whoop. LOL

On Wednesday, R and I went to Trinoma. Bought a BLACK button down dress from Jellybean. Smart casual. Then I went straight to our org meet where an orgmate told me, “Bagay sa’yo ang red.” He’s gay. I don’t think it was the color, I think it was also because it was a tanktop that, well, looked good on me. Also, I met new members of the org: M and L.

Thursday, we presented a touchstone in my Philo 1 class. One touchstone per group. Before dismissing us, the prof said, “This class is really better than my other class.” Great! XP

Friday, I went back to Muntinlupa because I gave my laptop bag to my Dad. He was saying [speaking of my Dad, he just pm'ed me in ym. He just got home in LA from here.] that his laptop bag was too small that he can’t put anything else in. I told him that I’ll give him my laptop bag. It really wasn’t mine; it was new and it was just there in our house in CA. I took it and used it as my hand carry. It’s big, heavy, black, and LEATHER. I hate it. So I brought it and he gave me his laptop bag, which isn’t so small (it was actually bigger than I expected) in exchange. I was also able to say goodbye properly since his flight is on

Saturday. we had class, after two weeks of not having class. After the class, I had lunch with org mates and then we went straight to a discussion. I wasn’t too keen on going to it because I had already read the document that will be discussed. I only went because they said it was a prerequisite, and because I had nothing else to do. When we got there, though, all my bad thoughts went out the window. The instru was awesome! If the docu was theoretical and OUTDATED, well, he was practical and so very updated. It was the best of all that I have attended so far. My only regret was that I was late—it started at 11, my class ended at 11:30.

I was being cynical last Tuesday, but after the discussion, I remembered why I was there, why I was in the org in the first place. Sure, I’ll be jaded again soon enough. But I think the feeling I had when I decided to join has come back and will never leave. I even had the idea of flying. LOL But I won’t fly. Expo Filipino lang siguro. LOL

After the discussion, I went back to my life and was going to Trinoma (See? I’m not ready to fly, so no worries). Nakasakay ko pa si kuyang instru. I passed him in going to the jeepney terminal outside FC. He was about to board a Katipunan jeep, but it was full so he wasn’t able to. He asked me what jeep he should ride to Philcoa. I said, “kahit ano, wag lang yun” sabay turo sa sasakyan niya dapat. An SM North jeep came after, so sumakay na kami. Nakasabay ko pa tuloy siya. It was sort of an extension of the discussion, but I can tell that we were both holding back. I can’t wait to tell B and K.

I hope I can be brave enough to do just that.
