Sem Ender Blues
October 15, 2009
It’s this time of the year again. Tomorrow (if they’ve finally become efficient with schedules) is the target release of the results of the first batch CRS.
My course only have two—TWO!—professors for our next step on the academic ladder. Though I think that’s an improvement from only having ONE class for this class this first semester. At least next semester, there would be three classes. But I haven’t heard anything worthwhile about these two professors. Even when I’ve resolved to choose the lesser evil, it’s still hard.
Ang hirap talaga pag na-Encanto ka.
I mean, I had my first two journ majors under Dr. Encanto, and then this!
Gahd.
While we were lamenting this earlier this afternoon, my classmate this sem and the last under Dr. Encanto said, “Ma’am Encanto really cares about her students… And I’m afraid about what’ll happen when we’re under other professors next sem.”
To which I almost retorted negatively, since Dr. Encanto is strict, if only I hadn’t realized that I’m currently happy with how she handles our class. (It’s also a plus that I’m happy with the grades of my papers.)
I actually wanted to enlist in her feature writing class, but my schedule won’t permit it. I’ll probably take it next academic year. That is unless the other professor whose name everyone I asked have recommended for the feature writing class is not teaching. XP
So, whatever. I enlisted both professors for 102 and I hope I get the better one, whoever that is. CRS, you be the judge.

On a different note, I think I have the lightest hell week ever.
One of my GE classes have ended about a month ago, another GE class ended a week ago. Another has ended last Tuesday, and we only have to submit a class project proposal. All of three didn’t have final exams.
One of my major classes has not had classes for over a month (our classes are on Saturdays), and we only have to submit a group research paper. The paper is due tomorrow, but I’ve already finished my part last week, since the first deadline was last week (the deadline, obviously, was moved).
Another major class does not have a final exam, though we’re supposed to hold a make up class on Friday. That’s alright, since I like this class and the professor’s interesting.
I only have one sit down exam, which would be tomorrow, for a major class. I’m confident of passing it without studying (because I listened to the professor, and because the professor compels us to listen to her). I haven’t studied, but I will study because I want to get a good grade; who doesn’t?
My free elective class still has a final exam, but the professor had already announced that it’s a take home exam. She’ll be sending us the questions on Friday, with an extended deadline of Wednesday.
I had the busiest pre-”hell week” week, though. I was busy volunteering for the “after Ondoy” relief operations, busy with the group works, and busy with the papers that weren’t done when I was volunteering for the relief operations.
Now it all boils down to one exam and one paper. Easy-peasy. If only all semesters would be this carefree.
